Grizzly Bear gets a lot of hype. Is it well deserved? I can’t really comment yet. I have listened to their albums and enjoyed them thoroughly. They’re not a band to have a ‘hit single’ but it seems they may have actually made that happen with their latest release ‘Veckatimest’.
The song ‘Two Weeks’ is pure pop brilliance coming from a band who is far from pop. They make music to work, relax, fall asleep, walk your pet bear to. This may sound like a bad thing but everyone needs music like that in their musical library.
But the days of a great, simple music video to match a great tune are becoming harder and harder to come by. Yet Grizzly Bear has seemed to have managed that with their video for ‘Two Weeks’. Give it a view below and form your own judgements. After all, that’s what music is all about (and here I am writing blog posts guiding you down a path of musical ramblings…) Just do me a favor and watch and hopefully enjoy the strangeness in all it’s beauty.
