7 of the saddest songs ever

post brought to you by: dyson

TulsaOk. So Tulsa actually created 14 songs to date. So my title might be misleading.

But they’re last release ‘I Was Submerged’ is what drove me to pinpoint it to 7 songs. This pinpoints more of a summary of a band who are short lived that create masterpieces, and then POOF! they’re gone.

This is what happened with Tulsa. They create two 7 song albums (‘I Was Submerged’) being the swan song of the two and then they’re gone. ‘Hunting With Cats’ is definitely worth a mention because it is still a great and purely satisfying album.

But this sort of thing just gets me riled up. I get turned on to a band, and then have to live with only 7 brief songs to get to know, love, and then obsess over. This is just unfair. But what can you do? Write the label (@parkthevan on Twitter if you want to join in my complaints). But will that bring back the band who created something you have loved and obsessed over for hours and hours on end? Probably not.

So I guess I have to chalk this up to the fate of being a music fanatic. Bank of America isn’t going anywhere. And if they do? I move on to another bank. But it seems nothing will ever bring Tulsa back. And yes, I can enjoy other bands. But none will give me the pure ‘customer service and satisfaction’ that Tulsa has given me with ‘I Was Submerged’.
