It’s hard for me to promote new artists on this site because most times I feel like the guy 15 minutes late to the party. This is not going to stop me from telling you the tale of Jim Kroft.
Jim and I have never met (although I’d kill to). All I know of him is his music, his gorgeous videos, but more importantly, his amazing personality. And this shines through with his incredible enthusiasm for creating and recording his art. The tale of Jim Kroft is really not that different from any other artist out there in the world. He makes music and believes it is something people will enjoy. Well, he is absolutely correct. But he has one HUGE advantage above the rest. Jim is that person out there who you want to approach, not get approached by.
Have some fun and check out his appeal in the DIY video for ‘The Great Doomsday Story’:
Jim Kroft is a man who suffers from the state of our music industry. His music is phenomenal and knowing his creativity, it will only get better with future albums to come. But he suffers from a big issue that needs to get resolved in the DIY music business. What is that you ask? He is a genuinely nice guy who just happens to have a huge amount of talent.
Why the HELL is this a problem??
Well, he doesn’t whore himself out. He doesn’t dress in drag or makeup to get himself known. He doesn’t bite off heads of animals on stage (as far as I know) to create some buzz behind him. All Jim does is create great art.
Jim is the example of a change that is greatly needed. He is the truest artist I have encountered in a very long time. He’s not a rich man (hence him squatting in an abandoned building after moving to Berlin to write his music in a creative atmosphere).
His album ‘Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea’ is set to come out in May. Will it hit the top of the charts? God damn I hope so.
Jim and I have a ‘cross the pond’ video interview scheduled. If some asshole didn’t steal his camera, it would have been posted on here. Stay tuned for that. But for now just enjoy the song that made me fall in love with the music of Jim Kroft.
