Little Gold – New 7″

Finding some great indie rock with lush background vocals is a rare thing these days. Normally you get a bunch of guitars and one vocalist leading the way. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s always nice to get a change of pace.

Little Gold have found a great balance on their new 7″ ‘Completely Fucked!’. They incorporate the raw guitars and drums with pretty smooth lead vocals and fully arranged background vocals. What it creates is a great sounding mixture of 90′s indie rock brought into present day.

When people describe background vocals, their default go to is always the Beach Boys. Little Gold (not to offend because it’s one of my major pet peeves) are no Beach Boys. But they’re a unique standout amongst a crowd of many groups using one distinct voice carrying the weight of the vocal parade.

Christian DeRoeck, Brian Markham, and Pat Broderick make up the trio that is Little Gold. Some of you may know Christian from his adventures co-founding Meneguar and Woods. (‘At Echo Lake’ has been on heavy rotation for me lately.)

The new 7″ will be released on Heart Break Beat and contains the tracks ‘Completely Fucked!’ and ‘Chainsaw’. Have a listen to ‘Chainsaw’ and get a taste of what Little Gold is all about.
