Jon Hardy & The Public – A Hard Year

post brought to you by: dyson

With a new EP set to come out in January, Jon Hardy & The Public are sharing a track off of it titled ‘A Hard Year’. Following some extremely successful EPs and albums that have caught the attention of NPR and many others, this new release seems destined to be another winner.

The group from St. Louis have been hard at work and aptly titled this new track to fit their circumstances.

Take it as a political song or a general song about life, ‘A Hard Year’ is a pretty epic track with dynamics that cause moments of complete chills and goosebumps.

Have a listen and look out for the EP to be released this January.

Kicking off with beautifully crunchy guitars and quickly falling in the unique voice of Hardy, this song screams something very atypical for a straight up rock song. This is solidified by the grand build up the song ends with. A drop in dynamics leads us into Hardy repeating “Hang on Baby”. From here on out, you’re off on a ride of chunking guitars building with each line, crashing cymbals finally leaving you with an all out wall of sound and Hardy belting out his last cry to hang on.
